How to Start Volunteering...
The first step is to fill out a Volunteer Application Form.
A Police Record check and Vulnerable Sector check (If over the age of 18) is required for every potential Volunteer. These checks are free of cost with a letter from the Director of Community Engagement, unless fingerprinting is required.
Once the Application Form and the Criminal Record Check is received, the potential Volunteer will be interviewed and have a reference check conducted by the Director of Community Engagment.
Qualified Volunteers will receive an orientation and tour of Salem Home. At this point an Adult Abuse Registry Check will be performed
The Volunteer will be trained for a Volunteer Assignment that is the best suited for them.
Specialized training will be offered by the Director of Community Engagement on an ongoing basis
