Community Program Opportunities - Community Group Visits
Community Group Visits welcome local groups into Salem Home to spend time with residents through activities, conversation, and shared experiences. These visits create meaningful connections between residents and the wider community.
Groups may include youth groups, schools, sports teams, churches, or other community organizations.
This role is ideal for groups who want to volunteer together and make a positive impact.
What Volunteers Do
- Participate in activities such as games, conversation, or group programs
- Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful way
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Follow direction from staff during the visit
- Ensure all interactions are positive and appropriate
- Report any concerns to staff
Location
Common areas within Salem Home.
Time Commitment
- Typically 1–2 hours per visit
- Scheduled in advance
- One-time or recurring visits
Requirements
- Friendly, respectful, and willing to engage
- Ability to participate as part of a group
- Group leaders must provide supervision and coordination
- Willing to follow Salem Home policies
Training and Support
Orientation and guidance provided by the Director of Community Engagement.
