Games Partners help create fun and engaging moments for Salem Home residents by facilitating simple games such as bingo, cards, and table games. These activities encourage social interaction, laughter, and friendly connection among residents.

Volunteers support residents during games by explaining rules, assisting with gameplay, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.

What Volunteers Do

• Help set up simple games such as bingo, cards, or table games

• Welcome residents and encourage participation

• Assist residents with gameplay and understanding the rules

• Support residents who may need help handling cards or game pieces

• Help clean up the game area after the activity

• Notify staff of any concerns about residents

• Record volunteer hours in the volunteer record book

Location
Common areas within Salem Home.

Time Commitment

• About 1–2 hours per session

• Scheduled with the Director of Community Engagement

• 6 month commitment preferred

Requirements

• Age 15 and older

• Friendly, patient, and encouraging

• Comfortable interacting with older adults

• Willing to follow Salem Home policies

Training and Support
Orientation and support are provided by the Director of Community Engagement and Salem Home staff.
