Support Services Program Opportunities - Puzzle Organizer

Puzzle Organizers help maintain and organize puzzles throughout Salem Home, ensuring residents have access to complete, engaging, and easy-to-use puzzle options. By sorting pieces, checking for completeness, and rotating puzzles, volunteers support meaningful and calming activities for residents.

This is a quiet, behind-the-scenes role that contributes to a welcoming and engaging environment.

This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy organizing, problem-solving, and working independently.

What Volunteers Do

  • Sort and organize puzzles by size, type, or difficulty
  • Check puzzles for missing pieces and remove incomplete sets when needed
  • Rotate puzzles to provide variety across care areas
  • Keep puzzle storage areas clean, tidy, and accessible
  • Notify staff of any supply needs or concerns
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines
  • Record volunteer hours in the volunteer record book

Location

Care areas, activity spaces, and storage areas throughout Salem Home.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 1–2 hours per month
  • Flexible weekday scheduling

Requirements

  • Age 15 and older
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Enjoyment of puzzles or hands-on tasks
  • Willing to follow Salem Home policies and infection control guidelines

Training and Support

Orientation and guidance provided by the Director of Community Engagement and staff.
