Support Services Program Opportunities - Media Organizer

Creative Support Volunteers help maintain and organize media collections throughout Salem Home, ensuring residents and staff can easily access music, movies, and other entertainment. By keeping items sorted, complete, and in good condition, volunteers support enjoyable and meaningful leisure experiences.

This is a quiet, behind-the-scenes role that helps create a calm and engaging environment for residents.

This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy organizing and working independently.

What Volunteers Do

  • Organize CDs, DVDs, and other media into correct cases and categories
  • Rotate media selections to provide variety and interest
  • Ensure items are complete, labeled, and in good condition
  • Keep shelves and storage areas tidy and accessible
  • Report damaged or missing items to staff
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines
  • Record volunteer hours in the volunteer record book

Location

Libraries, common areas, and media storage spaces throughout Salem Home.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 1–2 hours every two weeks
  • Flexible daytime scheduling

Requirements

  • Age 15 and older
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Able to complete repetitive tasks
  • Willing to follow Salem Home policies and infection control guidelines

Training and Support

Orientation and guidance provided by the Director of Community Engagement and staff.
