Spotlight: Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteer as a Navy League Officer
Our Navy League Officer program is suitable for any adult looking for progressive professional development opportunities. Navy League Officers are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and are deeply connected to their community, and passionate about giving youth better start at life. Navy League Officers commit to training with cadets (9 years old to 12 years old) on a weekly basis and some camps/training throughout the year. They are often the ones running the training program themselves, administering the cadets in their charge, and liaising with families to ensure the success of the children. As they gain experience and training of their own and training weekend provided by Navy League of Canada - Alberta Division, Navy League Officers have the opportunity to progress through the ranking system, continue learning new skills, and contribute to the training aspect of the cadet program.

Befriending/mentoring can offer volunteers the opportunity to provide support and friendship to a person who may be going through a difficult period, is feeling lonely, or is adjusting to a major change in their life.
