What are the Volunteer duties or responsibilities?
As a volunteer, you’ll play an essential role in helping us create a welcoming and inspiring space for our members and workshop participants. Here’s an overview of some of the key tasks you could be involved in:

🔧 Assisting in Workshops & Classes
Support our instructors by preparing materials and tools before classes.
Assist participants during workshops, especially beginners, to ensure they have a positive and safe experience.
Help guide kids and teens through their projects, encouraging creativity and hands-on learning.
Clean up and organize the space after each session to keep our shop running smoothly.
🪚 Community Events Support
Provide assistance during special events, such as themed workshops or gift-building sessions.
Welcome participants, offer guidance, and ensure everyone has a fun and productive time.
Assist with event setup, takedown, and maintaining an organized workspace.
🛠️ Shop Maintenance & Organization
Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace by organizing tools and supplies.
Support with minor shop maintenance, such as tool sharpening and workstation upkeep.
Answer questions from members, provide support, and help foster a positive atmosphere.

Education/Knowledge Required
What We’re Looking For in a Volunteer
Enthusiasm for woodworking, creativity, or simply helping others learn and grow.
Willingness to learn how to use tools and equipment safely.
A positive, dependable, and community-oriented mindset.
Woodworking experience would be an asset but not necessary.

Time commitment required
We run a variety of scheduled time slots: 10am to 11:30am, 1pm to 2:30pm, evening workshops are more sporadic as are weekend at this time.
Depending on the number of volunteers we could have them committ each to 3 ish hours a week?
