Community Support - Olive Branch Outreach Society - Board Members and Volunteers

The Olive Branch Outreach Society are looking for Board Members and Volunteers. 

What are the Volunteer duties or responsibilities?
Board members attend monthly board meetings as well as working with clients and do research on various topics, such as homelessness. They also work on fundraising events and client and volunteer recruitment. Volunteers may be responsible for work directly with clients, as well as attending fundraising events, doing some research and providing assistance to the Board of Directors when, and where, needed.

Education/Knowledge Required
Anyone can volunteer from age 8 to 80. Board members must be at least 18 years old or older. Anyone with a back ground in the Human Services field would be an asset. Such areas as Social Work and First Responders. All forms of knowledge, both learned and life are welcome. Every skill is an asset. All you need to have is a love for helping those who need a "Helping hand up" when they've fallen through the cracks.

Time commitment required
Board members attend board meetings once a month, usually about 2-3hrs (except for July and December). Volunteers, including board members are asked to attend a minimum of one fundraising event per month (except for July and December). Events may last anywhere from 1 to 8 hours (+/-). However, volunteers are not expected to work an entire event, some events may require a volunteer to work a short shift of 2-3hrs (+/-).

How many volunteers do you require for this position?
Board members- 4-6 Volunteers- as many as we can get.

Each applicant will receive an orientation package that outlines the Olive Branch Outreach Society's Bylaws, Client Application process and more. They will also have a "Meet & Greet" with the Board of Directors as a part of the interview process.
