FOOD PANTRIES

IRCO SUN Community School's In-School Food Pantries are possible through a partnership with the Oregon Food Bank (OFB). Clients are provided with nutritious foods to support their families for up to 3-5 days, depending on family size. Mission Statement

IRCO Mission Statement
IRCO’s mission is to welcome, serve, and empower immigrants, refugees, and people across cultures and generations so they can reach their full potential. Founded by refugees in 1976, IRCO has grown into Oregon’s largest immigrant and refugee service organization, offering employment support, youth programs, family services, and community resources at more than 50 sites statewide.

Welcome to the IRCO Volunteer Program
We’re glad to have you on our volunteer team supporting IRCO’s work with immigrants, refugees, and others in need. For nearly 50 years, our mission has relied on the shared effort of staff, volunteers, and community partners. Now more than ever, your support makes a meaningful difference. If you value collaboration, finding purpose in your work, and contributing to a better world, you’re in the right place.

The volunteer portal gives you what you need to get started, including information about IRCO’s programming and impact, volunteer opportunities, expectations, policies, and other key resources. We’re grateful to have you with us and look forward to the work we’ll do together.

Volunteer Impact in 2025:
IRCO Volunteers and Interns are not just helpers—they’re co-creators of impact! With over 5,700 hours contributed and a service value of more than $207,000 volunteers enabled IRCO to scale programs, innovate solutions, and serve more clients—without proportional increases in cost.

Whether supporting refugee families, mentoring youth, preparing taxes, distributing food, serving on the Board, interning in our departments, or helping at events—every hour mattered. Thank you for showing up for the community and supporting this work. We're looking forward to seeing how much we can do together in 2026!
