We're happy know that you're as passionate about animals as the rest of us here at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County! Our dedication to the pets here at the shelter and in our community requires a lot of assistance. With a robust volunteer program, we have so many ways to get involved. From working directly with pets to supporting them indirectly at events and our thrift store, you can be part of our lifesaving mission.

Through this portal you'll be able to complete our volunteer application, sign up for orientation and training, log your hours, communicate with us, and sign up for volunteer shifts.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Whiskers in wonderland is our holiday event where vendors and food trucks join us for a night of wonder and excitement! We will have bounce houses, hot cocoa, raffles and much more! Come join us in creating the magic!

OPEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We have so many ways to be involved with Whiskers in Wonderland including the following:

  • Decorator - Help us turn the shelter into a winter wonderland by setting up and decorating Christmas trees, decorating the shelter lobby and kennels, making decorations, setting up tables and tents, and blowing up balloons.
  • Christmas Light Helper - String up the holiday lights all around the shelter and ensure they're working properly
  • Hot Cocoa Helper - Hot chocolate is free all night and you can help make sure everyone gets their fill
  • Bounce House Monitor - Watch over all of the villagers who use the bounce house and make sure everyone is being safe inside
  • Traffic & Parking Assistant - Direct traffic and assist villagers with parking
  • Vendor Assistant - Make sure vendors know where to park, unload, setup, when to break down their booths, collect raffle prizes, and assist in answering questions
  • Mr. & Mrs. Paws Photographer - Take photos of our villagers with Mr. & Mrs. Paws and keep track of the photos so they can be distributed later
  • Raffle Coordinator - Handle raffle ticket sales and announce raffle winners at the end
  • Clean Up Crew - Help breakdown and clean up the lawn after the event

The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and safe shelter for homeless animals and education to the community on responsible pet ownership.

We are a no-kill shelter with the goal of finding good, safe, and loving homes for all of the animals in our care.
