Veterinary Care
ABOUT
There are an incredible number of ways you can have a measurable impact on the pets in our care. Many of which begin right here at the shelter. We rely on hands-on help from volunteers to help us care for our pets and their veterinary care needs daily.
REQUIREMENTS
All veterinary care volunteers must be:
- At least 16 years old with a parent/guardian signature OR at least 18 years old with veterinary care / husbandry experience
- Comfortable with learning how to handle felines various stages of life and weights
- Comfortable with learning how to handle canines at various stages of life and weights
- Able to work in a clinic environment
- Able to lift at least 30lbs over head
All veterinary care volunteers will be required to complete the following:
- Volunteer Orientation
- Veterinary Clinic Introduction and Training
Veterinary care volunteers may be required to have previous experience in a clinic environment or medical setting. In some circumstances, veterinary care volunteer opportunities may ONLY be available to those who are established veterinary care technicians or board certified veterinarians.

Tuesday - Saturday @ 11:00AM - 5:00PM
OPPORTUNITIES
Veterinary care opportunities include:
- Facilities maintenance (cleaning, laundry, garbage disposal, etc.)
- Surgery preparation and cleanup
- Post-surgical recovery assistance
- Being extra hands when the shelter is short staffed
