Special Events
ABOUT
We believe it truly takes a village to care for our pets and get them into loving fur-ever homes. That includes being front and center for adoptions, education, and other methods of community outreach. Volunteers can have a meaningful impact on our pets by being part all that we do behind the scenes!
REQUIREMENTS
All special event volunteers must be:
- At least 16 years old with a parent/guardian signature
- At least 18 years old to handle dogs
- Comfortable and confident speaking to members of the public and answering questions
- Able to attend events off-site
- Comfortable with learning how to handle cats or kittens at various stages of life
- Comfortable with learning how to handle dogs at various stages of life and weights
- Able to lift at least 30lbs over head
All administrative volunteers will be required to complete the following:
- Volunteer Orientation
- Feline Training (optional)
- Canine Training (optional)

The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is located at
8890 Glades Cut Off Road, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986
Tuesday - Saturday @ 11:00AM - 5:00PM
OPPORTUNITIES
Special event opportunities include:
- Assisting with table and tent setup or decoration
- Handling dogs while out and about
Special events include:
- Blue Jean Ball (annual)
- Pup Crawl (annual)
- Whiskers in Wonderland (annual)
- Dine-to-Donates (monthly)
- Pups & Brews / Yappy Hour (bi-monthly)
