Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Australian Wildlife Conservancy and sharing our passion for conservation!
At AWC, our mission is the effective conservation of all Australian animal species and the habitats in which they live. Our work is challenging, but we believe that by working together, we can make a real difference and see a world where Australia’s biodiversity is valued and effectively conserved by an engaged community.
As a volunteer with AWC, you will have the opportunity to contribute your time, skills, and energy to our conservation efforts.
We value the contributions of all our volunteers, and we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can make a meaningful impact. Our team of experienced staff and fellow volunteers will work with you to ensure that your volunteer experience is rewarding, safe, and enjoyable.
Once again, thank you for your interest in volunteering with Australian Wildlife Conservancy. We appreciate your commitment to our cause, and we look forward to potentially working with you to protect Australia's precious wildlife.
How to register your interest in volunteering.
To submit your expression of interest and join our volunteer community click on the 'Fill in an application' button in the top right-hand corner. By creating a 'MyImpact' profile you'll have direct access to all upcoming volunteer opportunities to apply directly to the roles that best suit you.
While registering as an AWC volunteer comes with the benefits of joining our community it does not guarantee an active placement. It is important to note that positions are limited and may require a specific skill set, so please take the time to carefully read through the position descriptions and all information before applying.
AWC Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Volunteer Survey Assistant
Survey assistants work with our science teams across AWC, helping with fauna surveys, bird surveys and vegetation surveys. These projects are usually quite physically demanding, and often require the teams to camp in the bush for the duration of the project.

Volunteer Land Management Assistant
Land Management Volunteers get involved with projects such as weed management, trail clearing, fencing, re-vegetation, assisting with feral animal control, and minor infrastructure projects.

Campground Host
Several AWC sanctuaries have Visitor Programs attached to them, and our Campground Hosts assist with running these programs. Programs run for the winter months, and Campground Hosts usually stay on site for one-month stints, greeting visitors, assisting with bookings and providing information.
Caretaker
Volunteer caretakers assist the teams at remote properties during staff absences. It is a mandatory requirement that Caretakers hold a current First Aid (and CPR) certification. These roles often require experience with remote living, as well as being able to keep yourself occupied during downtime (usually with limited internet!).
Events and Fundraising
The AWC Events team use assistance from volunteers with a background in hospitality or events. This may be for a single day fundraising event such as a dinner in a major city, a weekly project working with our fundraising team, or a multiple-day event at on our remote properties
Office, comms and admin
Volunteers with a background or skilled in administration, data entry and communication, working with our office based teams in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.
