Mt Gibson - Mt Gibson Woylie Translocation 2026

Project Title and AWC Sanctuary
Mt Gibson Woylie Translocation 2026
Project Description and Dates
Come and join us at Mt Gibson to assist with our Woylie Translocation. In April we will be completing a Translocation of Woylies from inside Mt Gibson’s 7,832 ha feral predator-proof fenced area (‘exclosure’) to outside. This will be the second year of translocating woylies to the outside at Mt Gibson. The translocation will involve trap teams (setting and clearing traps & processing animals), Lab team (attaching collars, coordinating & collar checks before release) and Radiotracking and Release teams. We will be requiring 3-5 volunteers to assist with the trapping teams and the lab teams. The translocation is planned to occur across one week in April (20th-25th) however if not enough individuals are caught during the first week, we will be completing a second week of the translocation in May (4th -9th) and will also be requiring volunteers for the second week if it is needed.
