Bowra Wildlife Sanctuary- Campground Host

Bowra Wildlife Sanctuary is internationally renowned as one of Australia’s most rewarding bird watching destinations.
The area is now protected forever as part of Australia’s national reserve system. This diverse habitat is rich in birdlife and is a stronghold for many threatened and declining bird species.
Bowra is a 14,000 hectare reserve is home to more than 200 bird species, including nine threatened species.
In order to assist the Australian Wildlife Conservancy manage the seasonal Campgrounds at the Bowra, a Camp Host volunteer program has been established.

This year the Camp Host Program requires a skilled couple or two friends to fill the following Month:
April to September 2027
This volunteer position assists with the management of campground bookings, meet and greet visitors coming to stay at the Bowra Campgrounds and visitors coming to spending a day on the sanctuary.
The team is looking for volunteers who are available for a minimum of 4 weeks or otherwise negotiated with Sanctuary managers.
Tasks will include
Checking in guests and providing information about the campsite
Groundskeeping - watering, weeding, and keeping campgrounds tidy
Maintenance and cleaning of campground and visitor information facilities
One or both Camp Hoists are required to have a current First Aid Certificate & CPR - AWC will reimburse costs for the course
Accommodation Provided
A volunteer stripend payment will be available at $80 per week per person.
