The Human Resource department is looking for a volunteer to help with administrative tasks and to help grow our own volunteer program. The Volunteer Coordinator must adhere to the values of this organization and function as a role model to others. Experience in volunteer management and/or human resources recruitment is helpful.
Become a part of the Prescott Valley Legal team as a volunteer!
Under general supervision, provides a variety of legal secretarial support to the Legal Department, in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions.
A volunteer will assist in setting up and maintaining criminal case files within an electronic case management system (CMS) and a physical paper system; will access public databases to ascertain prior criminal convictions of defendants; review closed criminal case files, and enter sentencing information from the files into the CMS. In so doing, the Legal Volunteer must deal sensitively with highly confidential information.
On the civil side, a volunteer will assist the Legal Department with its electronic and paper filing system; scan paper documents saving them to the proper locations within the department's electronic folders and drives, and assist with additional projects as directed.

The court is reviewing old case files to dispose of completed case files according to the Arizona Supreme Court Records Retention and Disposition Schedule. This project will last a minimum of one year. Training on the process and a quick reference guide are available.• Primary Responsibilities – A volunteer must review the individual cases in the computer case management system to check if it is completed and enter the code for purging. All completed cases would be boxed for destruction. Any case files still outstanding would be filed alphabetically according to the particular year in the filing cabinets. • Secondary Responsibilities – maintain the file room organization.
Volunteers in this area would need basic navigation computer skills, sorting & filing alphabetically, and being detail-oriented. Must have the physical ability to lift/move/carry up to 20 pounds semi-often and sit for long periods of time viewing the computer monitor. Successful volunteers in the Court must have a positive attitude, job assignment flexibility, excellent team player skills, and good communication/customer service skills.
