The Immunization Associate will assist us in directing traffic, guiding people to who is next for their appointment, where to sit following appointments, etc. for our Flu Clinics.
Volunteers will assist Public Health Flu Clinics held in the SW at SHA facilities in former Cypress Health Region including Swift Current, Herbert, and Mankota.
This is an on going casual position. various shifts and times available.
Meals on Wheels Volunteers deliver nutritious meals to clients assessed as needing support with nutrition.
Personal accomplishment, develop and enhance communication skills, learn new job skills & obtain a work routine, being involved & giving back to community.
Volunteer picks up meals at given time from the outlet and delivers to client in their home.
Shifts vary, delivery over lunch time hours.
Meadows Canteen
Escort Resident from house to Canteen, Volunteers help resident reach merchandise and make change, Escort back to House.
Shifts available Monday - Friday afternoons
Escorting residents to and from hairdressing Salon within the Facility. 1:1

The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities.
Recreation Associate are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents
Activities include, but are not limited to: Reading groups, puzzles, games, bingo, nail painting, going for walks, group painting, crafts, exercise programs, and special events like Christmas parties and teas, hymn sings, Birthday parties, volunteer group outings.
Will be 1:1 and group settings.
Large and Small groups associates required.
Recreation Escorts also required to take residents to and from the Activities within the Facility.
Sunday to Saturday - mornings and afternoons
The volunteer would drive a pedal bike that is specially designed for residents to ride along on.
Volunteers will be trained in safety protocols, emergency off site plan and how to ride the bike. Volunteers will not assist getting residents on or off bike, this will be done specifically by trained staff. Volunteers will be trained on a pre-destination route with check out and in with approximate time of return.
Volunteer must have cell phone
This is an ongoing repeated activity - Daily , Weekly and Monthly
Shifts available Monday - Sunday between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
Personal Shopper:
Residents at the Meadows who do not have family or friends nearby to assist them. Some of them have physical limitations and others have cognitive limitations. The Meadows provide things here but we do not provide things that are unique or individual to the person. Its hard to meet the unique demands of the residents and not all items they need are appropriate to be sold in the canteen. Volunteer will have a sense of fulfillment and purpose by providing to the well-being of the residents.
Some residents have no transportation, no family or friends nearby. These residents do not have credit cards to order online, and are suspicious of online shopping and will not do it. Some of them have physical limitations and others have cognitive limitations. The Meadows provide things here but we do not provide things that are unique or individual to the person. Its hard to meet the unique demands of the residents and not all items they need are appropriate to be sold in the canteen. The volunteer supplies that extra pair of "Helping Hands" that add to the trained services of the long-term care facility staff.
Volunteers must have a drivers license, knowledge of how money works, knowledge of where products that are requested are for sale.
Shifts vary per need of residents. This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity.

Offer one to one visiting and socialization.
Deliver and offer comfort items to patient and family.
Communicate with Palliative Care Coordinator for connection with additional supports
Shift times will vary depending on the need of the clients.

Requirements:
Must complete Palliative Care Training Program per Palliative Care Coordinator.
Must be comfortable with patients at end of life.
Ability to function in an emotionally stressful environment.
Comfortable in a health care setting, accepting and open minded.
Volunteer Coordinator will complete the volunteer registration process.
Palliative Care Coordinator will provide Palliative Care Volunteer Training, on site orientation/training, roles of volunteer and boundaries, dying process.
