The Meadows - Pet Visitation Associate
Volunteer brings in a Pet for the residents to enjoy.
Pet Visitation provides value added care for residents through meaningful engagement with animals.
This role is more independent where the volunteers and pets have a central point of
contact but may conduct their volunteer service independently.
Interactions occur in areas with limited visibility or infrequent supervision by a paid
employee or senior volunteer. Residents Houses; Rooms
-Before approaching client, ask permission from client if they would like to be near the animal, have any allergies or a fear of animals
-Provide friendly conversation with clients without discussing any personal health history
-Be responsible for cleaning up after their animal (s)
- Provide their own feeding utensils and food
-Animal is to remain with the handler at all times
