Fundraiser: ShredAbility
ShredAbility is one of RMA's annual fundraisers in the "Ability Series", and is an all mountain treasure hunt at Sunshine Village open to all abilities and levels. Teams of two will race around the mountain on skis, snowboards, or sit ski. They will solve clues, win prizes, and challenge themselves at the Paralympic-inspired Challenge Zones!
This event cannot run without our wonderful volunteers! From collecting silent auction items, to registering participants, to helping out with clues, we have plenty of opportunities for you to help out. Please email volunteer@rockymountainadaptive.com if you have any questions about the event.

Training
Training is required for all volunteers who wish to volunteer with participants and have not taken part in a training session in the past two years. Volunteers are welcome to join multiple training sessions if they wish! We have 3 types of training sessions:
- Info Sessions - optional ||| only offered at the beginning of each season ||| in-person or online.
- Activity-Specific Training - mandatory, if you would like to volunteer for that activity ||| offered mostly at the beginning of each season, and throughout the season as needed ||| in-person.
- Theory Sessions - mandatory for any opportunities with participants ||| offered mostly at the beginning of each season, and throughout the season as needed ||| facilitated session (in-person or online), or online e-learning modules (can be completed on your own time)
For all Activity-Specific Training it is only required to attend ONE training session for each activity you wish to join. Example: One Alpine Sit Ski session to assist with Sit Ski lessons, one Nordic session to assist with Nordic lessons, etc.
For winter training you must be able to ski or snowboard to a green runner level and provide your own equipment. A ticket will be provided for the day of training.
For summer training, RMA will provide a kayak, PFD, and helmet, though you may bring your own equipment. Volunteers must be able to swim independently and be able roll onto their back and float while wearing a life jacket to participate in any paddlesports training.

Mission Statement
Rocky Mountain Adaptive (RMA) is a not-for-profit charity, whose mission is to enable all individuals, ranging from children to older adults, with physical, intellectual, cognitive, or developmental challenges to participate, learn, and excel in all sport and recreation activities in the Canadian Rockies.
Our Mission is simple to understand. We want all the individuals who access Rocky Mountain Adaptive to strive, persevere, and overcome any challenges that present themselves to achieve the fulfillment of our aims.
‘No Limits!” is more than just a phrase, it is a mentality. For our team, it motivates us to reduce barriers and provide successful sporting and recreation experiences. For our adaptive guests, “No Limits!” is a determination to overcome any obstacle, mental, physical, or other that may lay in the way of achieving their goals. RMA aims to cultivate this mentality and spread it to everyone that we encounter and those access our services, as well as apply the same attitude to the growth and development of our organization.
