Training - Winter: Activity Training: Sit Skiing (Monoski and Bi-ski)
Each winter, we have many participants who use a sit ski. These participants can require varying degrees of assistance. Some will need help getting on/off a chair lift, getting up after a fall, or transferring from their wheelchair to a sit ski and back again. All of these skills are covered in training!
We ask that all volunteers who attend training are comfortable managing their speed and turning on blue runs, as well as loading/unloading chairlifts without assistance. If you are a skier we highly recommend the ability to parallel ski. For snowboarding, the ability to turn on your heelside and toeside is highly recommended.
Location: Sunshine Village
What to Wear/Bring: Weather-appropriate layers of clothing, all personal equipment, lift pass (if you have one), Parks Canada parking pass, water, nut-free snacks/lunch, and anything else you would like for a day of skiing/snowboarding.
