Ongoing Individual Opportunities: For those individuals who want to make a difference on a continuing basis.

Types of ongoing roles include:

  • Direct Client Services (reception, coaching)
  • Administrative Support (clerical, computer tasks, and volunteer leadership)
  • General Support Activities (organizing, sorting, serving)
  • Professional Skills (Project Manager, Trainer, Fundraiser, Facilities, etc.)

**A New Leaf is unable to accommodate court-ordered service**

Commitment & Schedule: Most ongoing roles involve 3-4 hours/week with a minimum 3 to 6-month commitment. The majority of shifts are available during business hours (M-F 8a-5p) with limited night/weekend shifts available in shelters.

Qualifications: Most ongoing opportunities require AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC) & the ability to pass a background check. Some will also require a 36-month clean driving record, TB test, or other specific qualifications/training based on placement.

NOTE: All direct client service positions, and those with access to sensitive information, require the DPS Level One fingerprint clearance card. If you do not have a FPCC and want to obtain one visit https://www.azdps.gov/services/public/fingerprint

Short Term Projects:

Sign up to be in a pool of interested and qualified volunteers and choose projects based on your interests, skills, and personal schedule. Projects can be 1x or several weeks, but commitments are less than 6 months. Most opportunities do not require a fingerprint card, but the number of opportunities you’ll have to choose from will be greater the more qualifications you meet. Types of projects include:

  • Organize a donation drive
  • Support an event
  • Provide/serve a meal for a shelter
  • Small tasks (sort, assemble, label, etc.)
