Outings volunteers help bring joy beyond the walls.

Many of our residents are no longer able to get out into the community on their own—but with your help, they can. By volunteering for resident outings, you’re not just providing support—you’re opening the door to fresh air, new experiences, and meaningful moments.

Your time helps reduce isolation and creates lasting memories.

Just a few hours of your time can make someone’s whole week.

We are recruiting ages 16+ to go on outings with staff and residents.  

Monday to Friday.  Times will vary.

For many individuals in long-term care, recreation is a vital part of emotional and social well-being. Volunteers help make these moments possible—bringing companionship, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.  You are an extra pair of helping hands for activities such as visiting, Bingo, crafts, games, baking and more!

Your presence helps reduce isolation and supports quality of life.

Comfort comes in many forms—sometimes with paws and a wagging tail.

While in a common area, pet Visitor Volunteers create moments of happiness, calm, and connection, that can change someone’s day. Whether it’s a wag, a purr, or a friendly nuzzle, your pet brings comfort like nothing else can. You and your pet’s presence help reduce stress, anxiety, and loneliness while creating joyful experiences for patients, residents, and staff.

Proof of current immunizations is required.  Pet must be able to maintain a friendly temperament in any situation that may arise.  You may be asked to provide documentation from a licensed veterinarian with respect to their suitability.

Become a youth volunteer if you are interested in making a real difference in someone’s life. Whether you’re serving patients in the hospital, helping with activities in a continuing care home, visiting residents/patients and/or supporting staff, your time and energy bring positivity to those in care. This opportunity also supports the Volunteerism 30 high school credit and allows you to enhance your skill set, gain healthcare experience, and build your resume. This Youth-in-Action volunteer program runs from November - May (dates and times are subject to change)

We are recruiting students in Grades 9 - 12. Limited spaces available. Shifts are Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Deliver more than a meal—deliver care.

For many individuals in our community, receiving a meal is about more than nutrition—it’s a moment of connection, a friendly face, and reassurance that someone cares. By volunteering to deliver meals to Home Care clients, you help ensure they receive not only nourishing food but also a vital check-in that supports their independence and well-being.  The impact is immediate.

One delivery can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

Hospital visits can feel overwhelming—for patients, families, and visitors alike. As an Information Desk volunteer, you help ease that stress by offering directions, answering questions, and providing a calm, welcoming presence.

You’re more than a guide—you’re a source of reassurance at a moment when it matters most.

Your kindness can set the tone for someone’s entire visit.

We are recruiting ages 16+. 

Shifts available on Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm  

Bring comfort and reassurance to families during a stressful day.

Become a support person for families at our Day Surgery unit by volunteering as a Sibling Companion. In this unique role, you will provide companionship and age-appropriate therapeutic play for the brothers and sisters of patients, offering them a calming presence during what can be an anxious and long wait. By engaging these children in crafts, reading, playing, or simply offering a supportive presence in the designated area, you allow parents to focus on the surgical needs of their patient child with the peace of mind that their other children are safe and supported.

Ronald McDonald House Family Room

Provide a “home away from home” inside the hospital.

Join our team at the Ronald McDonald House Family Room on the Pediatrics floor, where volunteers help create a calm, welcoming, and supportive space for families with hospitalized children.

From greeting guests and tidying the room to offering coffee, conversation, and a friendly smile, your presence makes a meaningful difference. You help families feel cared for during what can be a very difficult time.

Help families focus on what matters most – their child’s health.

We are currently recruiting volunteers aged 18+.

Available shifts:

• Monday–Wednesday: 9 AM – 9 PM
• Thursday–Sunday: 9 AM – 6 PM
