BCIMS is a non-profit volunteer organization that runs through the efforts of community members. We seek to integrate the Dharma into all volunteer work, and we see volunteering as as an opportunity to meet and practice with like-minded people.
If you have attended sitting groups or retreats, please consider extending your practice by volunteering. As a valued volunteer, you will attend Short Non-Residential retreats free of charge and connect with teachers and other volunteers. You will be invited to volunteer events and activities and experience the positive benefits which come from working with other dedicated people in service of the Dharma.
Please complete the application by clicking on the blue button to the right. There will be a brief orientation where more detailed information will be provided. Once your application has been accepted, you will be invited to choose the role(s) which fits your skill set and volunteer at a time which best suits your schedule.
BCIMS offers BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ retreats. We encourage members of our sangha who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, other People of Colour) or LGBTQIA2S+ to apply as volunteers these and/or other retreats.
NOTE that for in-person retreats, please refer to the Covid Safety page on the BCIMS website.
Below is a list of 2024 opportunities. Click on the info button (i) for a description of each role. We look forward to welcoming you as a valued member of the BCIMS volunteer pool.
BCIMS aims to be a meeting place for anyone interested in learning more about the liberating teachings of the Buddha, furthering their meditation practice and living their realization of the Dharma. We believe the Dharma is for anyone who is interested and welcome everyone regardless of level of practice, gender, race, class, sexual orientation, ability or age. Our core values are to explore the possibility of freedom from suffering for everyone and to awaken the mind, heart and body.
