In-Person Short Retreats (UBC Asian Centre) - Retreat Manager

Retreat Managers hold an important leadership role which is essential to the success of each BCIMS retreat. Retreat Managers work closely together with the Volunteer Coordinator and the retreat teacher to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

 

Significant retreat experience (5+ years) and a strong personal practice is required. You will have opportunities to shadow experienced managers and will receive detailed instructions. Retreat Managers:

  • Attend pre and post retreat debriefs with Volunteer Coordinator and Program Director.
  • Share work behind the scenes during the retreat with Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Maintain a friendly and supportive attitude which instills a sense of good-will for all attendees.
  • Make announcements, field questions from attendees.
  • Support teacher at the retreat 

Attending the full retreat is required.
