St. Louis Public Library

Volunteerism in the time of COVID-19 is at once challenging and rewarding. The St. Louis Public Library applauds your commitment to library and community. The process of bringing volunteers back into the libraries began fairly recently and we will be expanding the number of in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities over the coming weeks and months. We will notify you as new volunteer roles emerge. Although we are looking forward with optimism toward our ability to add these new roles, the speed at which this may happen is impossible to predict.

Coming this spring

St. Louis County Library and St. Louis Public Library will begin sharing an integrated library system (ILS) in 2022. The new ILS will allow patrons from both systems to access nearly 5 million items, making library materials more convenient and accessible for both St. Louis County and City residents to check out. The new shared catalog is expected to be complete in spring 2022. The new ILS will allow patrons across the region to seamlessly view, request, and check out material from either system.
