PATH volunteer programs and volunteer projects provide critical support to those most at risk and enables PATH to continuously provide services.

ONGOING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

WELCOME HOME KITS: Every week, PATH moves dozens of Angelenos off the streets and into homes. You can help these new residents feel safe and comfortable in their new home by providing a "Welcome Home Kit" filled with basic home goods, kitchen items, and cleaning supplies. Welcome Home Kits are critical to help our neighbors start their journey of having a new place to call home! Please check out our Welcome Home Wishlist to help support!

Urgent Needs:

• Bedding
• Home goods (laundry hamper, bathmat, shower caddy)
• Kitchen items (pots & pans, dishes, utensils)
• Hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste)
• Cleaning supplies
• Target gift cards

*For health and safety reasons, all Welcome Home items must be new & unopened*

DONATION SORTING: Lend a hand to PATH Community Affairs staff by signing up for a donation sorting shift at PATH Metro Villas! By volunteering in this way, you can be a part of PATH's essential donation program that receives donated items from all around LA County. This volunteer experience involves receiving, sorting, organizing, and distributing donated items. These donations may be hygiene items, home goods, food, clothing, and more. We accept it all and do our best to make sure each donated item goes to an individual or family affected by homelessness in our community. You can sign-up for this opportunity through your Better Impact account. The following are available shift times: 

• Tuesdays 10am-12pm & 12:30pm-2:30pm
• Thursdays 10am-12pm 

PATH COOKS: PATH Cooks is a rewarding volunteer opportunity for volunteer groups can sponsor, cook and serve meals to residents in PATH’s interim housing programs.

• Groups can donate ingredients, cook, and serve meals at PATH West LA.

Shifts available for breakfast (6–8 AM), lunch (10 AM–1 PM), and dinner (4:30–7 PM).

Food Rescue Driver: Food rescue drivers help our staff team to combat food insecurity by helping to bring much needed food resources directly to the communities that we serve.  PATH partners with local food rescue agencies, grocery stores, and restaurants to rescue excess food and then distribute it to individuals and families that are food insecure. 

Food Recue Drivers commit to a regularly scheduled food rescue shift, where they are assigned a day and time to pick up food donations for drop-off at a local PATH site.  Volunteer Drivers are expected to use their own vehicle, or a PATH van, to pick up food donated from local community partners.

This position is ideal for individuals who would like to help support individuals and families impacted by homelessness, and at the same time help reduce food waste.

FOOD SORTING/DISTRIBUTION: Every first and third Thursday of each month, you will be assisting staff at our senior Permanent Supportive Housing site in Hollywood with sorting produce, non-perishable food, other items and engaging with residents that come down and “Shop” for their groceries. •  Every first and third Thursday of each month between the times of 12pm-2pm
