Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Roice-Hurst Humane Society! We simply could not make the impact that we do without the work of our outstanding volunteers. As a Roice-Hurst volunteer, you can choose how and when you give your time to our organization — including walking dogs, socializing cats, cleaning, yard work, building maintenance, administrative work, transporting pets in the car, adoption events, assisting with spay/neuter surgery days, and even at-home tasks!

General Interests
Dog Volunteering
Our Dog Volunteer Program is all about giving our shelter pups the enrichment, love, and companionship they deserve while creating meaningful experiences for our volunteers.
Whether you’re walking dogs, helping with playgroups, offering training support, or simply giving a nervous pup some quiet company, your time makes a real difference. Volunteers of all experiences are welcome, we provide training, guidance, and plenty of wagging tails.
Join us and help our dogs feel safe, loved, and ready for their forever homes!
Cat Volunteering
Our Cat Volunteer Program is dedicated to giving every feline in our care the comfort, enrichment, and affection they need to feel safe and loved.
Volunteers help with socialization, grooming, enrichment activities, and offering quiet companionship to our cats while they wait for their families.
Whether you're a seasoned cat person or brand-new to shelter volunteering, we provide guidance every step of the way. Join us in creating calmer, happier cats who are ready for their furever homes!
Administrative Tasks
Administrative Volunteer (Remote / On-Site)
Help from your computer! We are looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of administrative and online projects, including data entry, program development, research, and other support tasks.
This role can often be done remotely from home or on-site, depending on the project. If you are interested in contributing your skills and time in an administrative capacity, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more information and to get started.
Your support helps keep our programs running smoothly and allows us to focus more time on caring for animals and connecting them with their forever homes.
Donation Station Organization
In-Kind Supply Donations Volunteer
We need volunteers to help manage and organize our in-kind supply donations! This important role ensures that donated items are properly logged, sorted, and put to good use for the animals in our care.
This role is a great way to contribute behind the scenes without interacting with animals and helps ensure that we are taking care if the gracious items donated to us by our wonderful community.
Fostering

Become a foster with Roice-Hurst Humane Society!
Our Foster Program gives animals a safe, loving place to land while they wait for their furever homes.
When you open your heart and home, you can provide comfort, healing, and stability to pets who need a little extra care, whether they’re recovering from medical procedures, too young for adoption, or simply overwhelmed by the shelter environment. We provide supplies, support, and guidance every step of the way. Fostering saves lives, and you become a vital part of each animal’s journey.
