Volunteer Introduction to Computers Instructor
Do you enjoy helping others learn? We are looking for a friendly volunteer to lead a basic computer class once a week for 2 hours. It will run for 12 weeks. The class supports adult learners who are beginning their journey to use technology for everyday life, work, and communication.
No teaching or advanced computer experience is necessary. We welcome volunteers who are patient, encouraging, and comfortable learning alongside students.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist with a weekly computer basics class.
- Help students learn simple skills such as using a mouse and keyboard, accessing the internet, creating an email and sending messages.
- Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage students as they develop new digital skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years old
- Friendly and dependable.
- Comfortable using a computer for everyday tasks.
- Bilingual (English and another language) preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with adults or diverse communities is a plus.
Time Commitment: 2 hours per week for 12 weeks
Location: Catholic Charities Classroom - Gaithersburg, MD
Schedule: Flexible to volunteer availability
