Capital Caring Health

Since 1977, Capital Caring Health, an affiliate of Chapters Health System, has worked to make every day count for everyone in our care. From a critically ill child in pain…to a proud, disabled veteran… to an elderly cardiac patient in the last phase of life, we have provided palliative and hospice care to thousands of area patients and families —relieving suffering, resolving worries and concerns, and restoring comfort and peace of mind when it matters most.

Memory Bears Ambassador

Caring Bears

Memory Bears are made for grieving family members from clothing of their loved one. For a grieving person to hug a bear made from the favorite shirt/pajamas of their loved one, is deeply healing. Some bears might wear a special pin or other important items. These Memory Bears represent the person and are made to honor their memory. We know how devastating the loss of a loved one is on a family. Capital Caring Health provides hospice care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. These Memory Bears are very meaningful to the family.

Our sewers also offer pillows and small lap blankets to families in addition to the Memory Bears. Patterns are provided to all sewers. Our sewers support each other via a monthly zoom and weekly emails which connect the group.

Administrative/Office Support

Capital Caring Health requires volunteers interested in providing administrative assistance to staff.  We have volunteers who help with special mailings to communicate with patients, their families, and the community.

Music

Do you play an instrument? Hospice patients love to hear music, would you consider sharing your musical talents with hospice patients?

Singing or playing an instrument to a hospice patient can relax and reduce pain for many, please share your talents to help hospice patients.

Coming Soon...New Volunteer Management System
