Hunter New England Mental Health (HNEMH) is part of the Hunter New England Local Health District. We provide a wide range of mental health services across hospital and community settings—from prevention and early intervention to treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term support.
| About Our Volunteer Service |
Volunteers are an integral part of the Hunter New England Mental Health Service. They bring warmth, dignity, and humanity into clinical settings, creating moments of connection that help foster recovery, hope, and inclusion.
Whether through a conversation over craft, a book offered with care, or a thoughtfully selected outfit, our volunteers help remind consumers they are seen and valued—not just as patients, but as people.
We believe in elevating the human experience across our service—for consumers, carers, families, and staff. Volunteers play a key role in that mission.
On this site, you’ll find everything you need to know about our programs and how to get involved. If a role interests you and you meet the requirements, we warmly invite you to apply online.
