Administrative Volunteer Support

By assisting with office and organizational tasks, volunteers help free up staff to spend more time coordinating care and providing direct support to patients and families.
Volunteer activities may include:
• Assembling admission or information packets
• Preparing mailings or thank-you cards
• Filing, scanning, or light data entry
• Making friendly reminder or follow-up calls
• Organizing supplies or donated items
• Assisting with event preparation
• Creating resource or comfort packets
• Supporting special projects as needed
Every task completed helps strengthen the care we provide.
Handmade with Love Comfort Items

Do you have a talent for sewing or creating handmade items?
Volunteers with crafting or stitching skills help provide meaningful comfort to patients and families during their care journey.
Handmade items may include equipment coverings, memorial keepsakes, blankets, adult shirt protectors, and other thoughtful creations that bring warmth, dignity, and peace during a sensitive time.

Veteran Companion Visits

Our Veteran-to-Veteran Program seeks volunteers who are willing to share time with the nation’s heroes in our care.
We provide training and help Veterans understand their role as hospice volunteers — a valued part of our care team.
We connect Veteran patients with Veteran volunteers who have a special ability to honor and connect, encouraging peace and healing.
Volunteers may provide:
• Companionship
• Emotional support
• Respite for caregivers
Additional opportunities include:
• Pinning ceremonies
• Community events
• Educational outreach through the We Honor Veterans program

Paws for Cause

Do you have an animal that is certified in Pet Therapy? Consider bringing them to a person who may be socially isolated, lonely or need a joyful visit.
Companion Visits – Care Facility
In this role, volunteers will directly interact with hospice patients and/or their families. Volunteers may be assigned to an individual or to all residents who are accepting of a volunteer visit. Residents may be there for a short stay, an undefined length of stay or death may be imminent. Volunteers create positive engagement through reading, conversation or other activities. May also provide a quiet presence at the bedside.
Caregiver Relief Visits

Give someone a break from the caring environment by staying with their loved one. This provides a physical, emotional and mental relief for someone and can temporarily relieve symptoms of stress and burnout.
Vigil Visit

The Voyage team of volunteers offer companionship and support to patients who are nearing the end of life. The team provides a dignified death to individuals who have no family or close friends to sit with them at the end of life. Through this team, we can provide a compassionate presence for people on hospice.
Legacy & Life Story Projects

The Hospice Legacy Program Volunteer supports patients and families by preserving and honoring their life story, values, memories, and experiences. Volunteers create meaningful legacy items that provide peace, dignity, and emotional support during the end-of-life journey.
Share the Gift of Music

Music brings comfort, calm, and connection, often when words are no longer needed. We’re seeking compassionate musicians and music students to provide gentle, soothing music for hospice patients in bedside and shared spaces.
