If you are interested in volunteering or fostering dogs or kittens, please fill out a volunteer application.

Your love, affection, daily care, and basic training will help prepare your foster dog for a successful transition into their future home, and you will have truly saved a life.
We have healthy adult dogs, dogs with medical needs, puppies, bottle babies, and more. Short and long-term fostering is needed.
A "pitten" refers to the lucky kittens being fostered through Angel City Pit Bulls’ innovative kitten foster program.
Fosters are vital in determining how many kittens we can save from city shelters this Kitten Season. The typical foster stay for a litter is between 3-6 weeks.

Our Jefferson Park Pet Resource Center is our facility and hub for operations. While most of our dogs are in foster homes, we have a rotating crew of dogs who are crashing in the kennels. Many of these dogs are freshly out of the shelter and others are in between foster homes.
Each day, we have two dog care shifts at the center. One is in the morning from about 8:30-11a, and the evening shift is from 5-7:30p. A typical shift involves walking dogs or do enrichment and training in one of our play yards. You will also assist with cleaning kennels, washing dog dishes, and assisting with other chores.
Volunteering at "JP" is a great way to meet lots of dogs, make new friends, and best of all, there are opportunities to help every day of the week!

Have car, need nose prints on your windows? Our foster dogs are happy to assist! We are always in need of volunteers to drive foster dogs to their various obligations. Most frequently, we need assistance with veterinary appointments, as the scheduling is inflexible. Dogs also need rides to playgroups, adoption events, freedom rides from the shelter, between foster homes, and more!
It's a fun and easy way to help out on your schedule. Stopping for a puppacino in the Starbucks drive through is encouraged but not required...but if you do, send pics!

Pack walks take place in Griffith Park on most 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month at 8a. We alternate routes between a 3.5 mile hike to the helipad or a shorter flat walk. All dogs are on leash and there is one dog per handler, as well as hands free hikers to assist the group.
Our pack walks are open to the community. We love to send as many of our foster dogs as we can so they have an opportunity for a safe and structured way to be around dogs and people and get some exercise. We also use this opportunity for foster dogs to meet potential adopters.
Volunteers are needed to transport dogs from their foster homes or from our Jefferson Park facility and take them on the hike!
ACPB Academy is a drop-in training program held on Saturday mornings at 8a and 9a. At ACPB Academy, we strive to improve your relationship and communication with your dog as well as reduce unwanted behaviors. Classes are free to the public and enrollment is on a first come first serve basis.
In addition to helping the public, class is great for our foster dogs to work on their skills! Dogs currently in our foster program need volunteer handlers like you to bring them to class.

If you love talking to people to spread the word about getting involved with Angel City Pit Bulls and adopting a dog, we'd love to have you at events! Events range from our monthly Open House at our Jefferson Park facility to various off site events that range from fundraising or friendraising-oriented to major adoption events.

At times, foster parents may need support with their foster dogs when they have long days away from home or simply want their dog to have more outings. Volunteers are needed for things like helping with giving a dog a potty break and walk or taking the dog out for a fun field trip.
Some dogs may need a buddy to hang out with them as they work on separation anxiety, and others might benefit from your great marketing skills on a fun day out.
Angel City Pit Bulls is dedicated to creating brighter futures for pit bulls through adoption, education, advocacy, and owner support.
Founded in 2010 to address the challenges facing pit bull–type dogs in Los Angeles, ACPB transfers in hundreds of dogs and kittens annually from our partner shelters. Many of the dogs in our care arrive with urgent medical needs, and thanks to our community of volunteers, fosters, and supporters, we’re able to give them the second chance they deserve.
We are an entirely volunteer-run 501c3 organization, from our Executive Director to you!
