Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us at AWC and for sharing our passion for conservation.

Our mission is the effective conservation of all Australian animal species and the habitats in which they live. Across our network of sanctuaries and conservation partnerships, volunteers play an important role in supporting conservation outcomes by contributing their skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm alongside our staff.

Our volunteer program operates on a needs-based recruitment model, meaning volunteers are engaged to support genuine operational projects identified by our sanctuary and national teams.

We do not create volunteer roles simply to accommodate placements. Instead, volunteer opportunities are advertised as operational needs arise, enabling volunteers to make a meaningful contribution to conservation across a diverse range of areas.

You'll be prompted through two stages of registration. 

Once registered, you will be able to:

• View and 'sign up' (apply) for current volunteer opportunities across Australia.
• Receive notifications about new volunteer opportunities as they become available.
• Receive exclusive bi-monthly Volunteer Newsletters. 
• Maintain your volunteer profile, including your skills, qualifications, and availability.

Creating a volunteer profile is a registration only and does not guarantee an active placement.

Volunteer positions are limited and often require specific skills, experience, availability, or qualifications depending on the project.

We encourage you to carefully read each position description before applying to ensure the role is a good match for your skills, experience, availability, and expectations.
