Adoptions Support - Offsite - Hounds Around Town

Want to borrow a dog for a hike, a coffee break at an outdoor cafe, or an afternoon couch matinee in your (dog-free) home? All you need is your K9 Walker/Socializer Training (plus Yellow and Orange training for more shy or boisterous dogs) to sign up for a Hounds Around Town outing. We give you a nifty Adopt Me vest for your dog and kennel cards to hand out to interested adopters. It's a doggone good time for you and the pup, plus a chance to increase visibility for our cooped-up canines.

Even veteran hatters should pick up a copy of the new, single-page HAT Quick Guide at the Adoptions desk when they take out their next hound. There are links to some neat videos and graphics for helpful handling hints, plus some important information you may have forgotten. Don't forget to send field notes and photos to help us with marketing when you return, and you and the dog will have a great night's sleep after your field trip.

Please note: DO NOT attempt behavior modification on your HAT outing (which the shelter does not do), or to introduce our dogs to other dogs, or bring our dog to an outside behavior trainer.
