Welcome, SFAS Volunteers!

While patiently waiting for their forever home our dogs could use an outing, a break from the stress of shelter life. It's easy and fun!

Whether you request a specific dog or we suggest one for you, we will equip you with extra kennel cards to hand out and a snazzy ADOPT ME bandana or vest. Your job is to simply let the dog be a dog while you stroll the Railyard, chill on a bench in the Plaza, go for a peaceful hike, or treat your buddy to a pupuccinno at Starbucks.

All we ask is that you take some detailed notes about the outing and share some pictures or video, both of which will help us to find that dog a home.

Please note: This is not a time to attempt behavior modification (which the shelter does not do), or to introduce our dogs to other dogs, or bring our dog to an outside behavior trainer. 

Prerequisite: K9 Social Walker Training. Please sign up for a morning or afternoon shift and check in at the Adoptions desk. Sign out when you are leaving with a dog. Sign back in when you return.
