Samaritan is a not-for-profit, independent, non-sectarian agency caring for people in our community with serious-progressive illness without regard for their ability to pay. Volunteers are the cornerstone of Samaritan and play an integral role in the services provided to our patients, families, and clients.
Whatever your time availability or your special interests, Samaritan welcomes your interest in becoming a volunteer.

If you are a skilled sewer, we welcome you to make special memory bears from patients' clothing as a keepsake for their loved ones. We will provide you with a pattern and ask you for a sample bear prior to becoming an active bear maker.
You must be able to pick up material from and drop bear(s) to our office, 3906 Church Rd., Mount Laurel. We cannot deliver, pick up, nor use mail services.
Turnaround time from material pick up to bear delivery is 6-8 weeks.

Fall 2010 – Global Partners in Care helped connect US hospices with hospices in low-resource settings.Samaritan realized it’s global mission of caring for our world by partnering with Kawempe Home Care (KHC) in Kampala, Uganda. Our sister hospice provides holistic care and supportive services for people living with HIV/AIDS, TB, cancer, and other life-limiting illnesses. The goal is to identify cases of HIV/Aids and TB as early as possible, and to educate their youth, to stop transmission.
Samaritan supports their mission to provide medical support to the most disadvantaged including vulnerable and orphaned children through education, resources, and direct support of one of their entrepreneurial program called Beads for Education. Education is not free – families must pay out of pocket, which is difficult as Kampala is one of the poorest areas.
