Celtic Gathering
Fort Edmonton Park and the Fort Edmonton Highland Gathering Association celebrate the 21st annual Highland Gathering. This celebration of Scottish culture is not to be missed! Enjoy the magnificent sounds of the piping and drumming competitions and be sure to catch the beautiful dance demonstrations that are all a part of this great tradition! Sample haggis, play family games, and visit the merchant market to find your very own Scottish treasure. Two massed band marches, one down 1885 Street at midday, and then later to Blatchford Field Air Hangar are sure to be a highlight for visitors!

Heritage Gardens

The Heritage Garden Interpretive Program at Fort Edmonton Park consists of growing heritage varieties of annuals and perennials in our onsite greenhouse; developing an interpretive plan which outlines the garden designs; plant material representative of the historical gardener or era in which it is located; research; following heritage planting and gardening through the interpretive program.
What started out fifteen years ago as one simple vegetable garden has expanded into 15 market gardens, four feature theme gardens and two farm gardens! Fort Edmonton Park employs two full-time gardeners, and they rely heavily on the valuable assistance of the Heritage Garden volunteers.

Wardrobe
Fort Edmonton Park is renowned for the beautiful costumes and regalia worn by our Interpreters and we believe that clothing can tell an important story of our past. Incredible detail and care goes into the creation and preservation of these pieces and a close knit community of volunteers are instrumental to this process!
