Assisted Transportation
- Our Assisted Transportation volunteers provide senior clients (55+) with transportation to/from medical appointments and local grocery shopping in the greater Hamilton area. Volunteers are required to report any issues or concerns to the program coordinator with a call to the DCS office (e.g. client not home to be picked up for a drive). Volunteers are also required to submit their mileage via Better Impact for reimbursement.
- Minimum 2 drives per month.
- Must be a minimum of 25 years old.
- Provide proof of a valid G driver's license with minimum of $2 million in liability insurance.
- Must have access to a reliable, clean (interior), and insured vehicle. Proof of insurance is required.
- Ability to safely lift up to 20 pounds and assist clients with loading and unloading their walker if necessary.
- Proof of current (within the last six weeks) and clear Vulnerable Person's Sector Check.
