We need a talented videographer to join us as a volunteer and capture all the unforgettable moments at Motor Neurone Disease QLD’s iconic Walk to Defeat MND Gold Coast on Sunday 29th March at Broadwater Parklands, Southport.

This annual event brings together the community to honour, remember, and support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease. As a valued MND volunteer you will share your photography skills in a fun and meaningful environment and meet incredible people who share a passion for making a difference.

About the role

As a Volunteer Videographer, you will support MND Queensland by filming key moments during the Walk to Defeat MND event. Your footage will be used across our digital channels to showcase the event and raise awareness and funds for people living with MND.

When: Sunday 29th March

What Time: 7.30am to 12.30pm

Where: Broadwater Parklands, Southport

IMPORTANT EXTRA: You will need to come prepared for a day in the sun – wear comfortable, closed toed shoes, slip, slop, slap and bring a hat!

You will be:

  • Filming guests, sponsors and key moments throughout the event
  • Capturing engaging, people-focused footage that reflects the atmosphere of the event
  • Assisting with setting up simple shots as required
  • Following direction from the Event Coordinator regarding priority moments and scenes
  • Providing raw footage post-event (basic editing support welcomed if possible)
  • Assisting with general event setup before the event and pack down afterwards
  • Contributing to a project that helps MND Queensland raise vital funding for people living with MND

About you:

  • Own your own camera equipment
  • Have an eye for composition and movement
  • Confident filming in a live event environment
  • Friendly and comfortable engaging with attendees
  • Experience with event videography is desirable but not essential
  • Comfortable taking direction and working collaboratively
  • Reliable, punctual and able to complete a one-day volunteering commitment
  • Passionate about helping others and making a positive impact

By volunteering your time and talent, you’ll be contributing to an event that helps MND Queensland provide vital care and support services to people living with MND and their families. You’ll also gain valuable event experience, expand your portfolio, and be part of a passionate and welcoming team.

Please note:

Our volunteer personal accident insurance requires volunteers to be at least 12 years old. Children aged 14 and under must attend with a parent.

Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers aged over 75 may still participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
