Social Companions are matched with clients based on shared interests. Whether it’s jigsaw puzzles, film buff chats, Argentinian tango, cooking, or simply enjoying a weekly cuppa or a walk around the block – you could bring joy and connection to a Queenslander impacted by MND. Administration and Office Volunteers play a vital role behind the scenes, helping ensure our services run smoothly. Equipment and Warehouse Volunteers deliver essential items to clients and help maintain equipment so it’s always ready for use. Volunteer Biographers support clients to capture their Legacy in unique and personal ways – from memoirs and short stories to treasured family recipes, poetry, family trees, or anything that reflects their life and values. Looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend a day? Walk to Defeat MND is a heartfelt community event honouring, remembering, and supporting those affected by MND. We’re calling for volunteers across the state to help make these events a success! As a valued volunteer, you’ll gain hands-on event experience, meet passionate people, and play a key role in creating an inspiring and uplifting day for everyone involved. There are a range of roles to suit every interest – from helping with set-up and pack-down, registration, marshalling walkers along the course, selling merchandise and collecting donations, to face painting and general event support. As a Volunteer Admin Assistant at MND Queensland, you’ll bring a friendly, proactive attitude and help out across our Services, Fundraising and Events, Grants and general Administration teams. You’ll have the opportunity to use programs like Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and grant application platforms to make a real difference behind the scenes. Everyday Living Program

Our Everyday Living Program connects volunteers with people living with Motor Neurone Disease in Queensland who need a little extra help with day-to-day tasks at home. Volunteers support with practical activities such as gardening, light tidying/sorting (help do a wardrobe or tupperware cull!), basic maintenance (got a lightbulb that needs changing?), or other small jobs that make life a bit easier and more comfortable. We’re looking for volunteers who are reliable, down-to-earth, and happy to lend a hand. Whether you have a natural green thumb or fancy yourself a bit of a Marie Kondo when it comes to decluttering. Your time and effort can make a meaningful difference for someone living with MND, helping them maintain independence and dignity in their own home. |
