ROLE DETAILS
Location: Strathcarron Hospice
Responsible To: Catering Manager
Department: Catering Team
Hours: 10:00am — 2:30pm
2:30pm — 7:00pn
ROLE PURPOSE AND KEY DUTIES
This role is integral to the smooth running of a busy kitchen and café area. As a volunteer member of the Catering Team you will assist the team with their preparation of vegetable. You will also ensure that there is a constant supply of clean pots, crockery, cutlery, etc.
Key Duties: (not exhaustive)
- assisting with vegetable preparation;
- assisting with stocking fridges, freezers, supply shelves in the kitchen;
- replenishing crockery, cutlery, condiments, napkins in the dining area;
- cleaning and tidying tables in dining area;
- loading/unloading the dishwasher;
- washing utensils, pots, pans, and chopping boards etc;
- such other tasks as may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Whilst performing this role, a volunteer will be required to stand, stoop and
occasionally lift heavy pots, pans, utensils, etc
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- good inter-personal skills, cheerful disposition and the ability to communicate
confidently; - work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- understand the importance of confidentiality.
