Volunteer Summer Social | August 6, 2026 (5:30pm-9:30pm) | *RSVPs Needed* 

Join us on Thursday August 6th, 2026, from 5:30-9:30pm, for an evening of volunteer community connections, nature, and summer outdoor movie magic at Evergreen Brick Works!  

Evergreen volunteers are warmly invited to our Volunteer Summer Social on August 6, 2026!    

To celebrate our incredible network of volunteers and come together as a community, we are hosting a Volunteer Summer Social at our upcoming August movie nights. The event takes place on August 6, 2026, from 5:30pm-9:30pm. Catch up with other volunteers and meet new ones - we would love to see you there! 

At this social, volunteers are invited to connect with fellow volunteers and staff, enjoy a casual nature wander in the Don Valley Brick Works Park, and support our local food vendors by purchasing delicious offerings. Finally, stay for the main highlight of the evening – an outdoor movie screening of  Disney’s “Hoppers” (2026). Described by staff as a very “Evergreen-themed” movie.😊 Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to save your spot in the Pavilions for the movie! Volunteers who RSVP will also be eligible to receive a free beverage and popcorn for the movie! 

Where: Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview Avenue) - Arrival location will be shared with volunteers who RSVP by signing up below.  

When: Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 5:30pm-9:30pm. Volunteers are welcome to come for the whole event, or drop by for a bit. We encourage you to stay for the main highlight of the event – Hoppers! 

Here is an overview of the event so you can plan accordingly.  

Schedule Highlights  

• 5:30pm-6:00pm [Location TBD] – Welcome. Gather together, connect with fellow volunteers, and hear some words of appreciation from staff.  
• 6:00pm-6:30pm [Brick Works Park or Pavilions] - Nature Wander or Movie Prep. Join us for a casual nature wander through the Don Valley Brick Works park. Alternatively, prepare for the movie screening. 
• 6:30pm-7:00pm [Pavilions] Movie Prep! Get ready for the movie! Pickup your free beverage and popcorn. Purchase dinner from our local food vendors and grab a seat! Please bring a blanket or lawn chair.  
• 7:00pm-9:30pm [Pavilions] Hoppers. Enjoy a screening of Disney's Hoppers (2026).  
• 9:30pm – Head home. 

Please RSVP by signing up by Monday, August 3! (Click +Sign-Up button at bottom of the page). We will send additional details, including a confirmed schedule and arrival instructions, closer to the event date.

• Summer Social: The summer social scheduled for August 6, 2026, is a casual gathering to connect with volunteers, meet Evergreeners from across the organization, and enjoy summer fun at the Brick Works!

  • Our team will inform our security to register your vehicle for Thursday, August 6.  
  • Pro tip: Volunteers are welcome to check in with our security staff in the Young Centre to double check vehicle registration in the system.
  • Please note parking is on a first come, first served basis.
