Toronto - Evergreen Brick Works - Craft Club - Add me to the Craft Club | How it Works & Mailing List

Join Evergreen’s Craft Club and stay in-the-know about all things craft related at Evergreen Brick Works. Craft Club volunteers work together in support of site-based arts and crafts projects for use in events, activations, and public engagements, while offering a moment of connection at the same time. During quieter seasons, “Craft Club” volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in occasional social events, workshops, and skill-shares to keep the fun going.
When and where: All Craft Club opportunities will take place at Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview). Craft Club sessions will usually take place on the last and first week of each month. Session times will be determined by project needs.
How to Join Evergreen’s Craft Club:
We use this sign-up page as a way of capturing volunteers interested in participating in Evergreen’s “Craft Club” opportunities. Simply by signing up here, you’ve joined the club and become part of the mailing list! This keeps the club accessible, inclusive, and equitable.
As you create your profile, be sure to let us know about any specific craft related experience or skills you might has, as well as your preferred means of participation.
- “Craft Club” Participant: Participates in crafting activities, social events, and supports ongoing craft club activations/installations.
- “Craft Club” Facilitator: Participates in crafting activities and feels comfortable taking on more responsibilities, e.g. activity set-up, activity facilitation with other volunteers and members of the public.
Dedicated Craft Club volunteers may also apply to become “Craft Club” Ambassadors: A small number of volunteers who take on leadership roles to facilitate crafting activities and workshops, actively supports other Craft Club volunteers, and helps to create monthly Craft Club “Blitzes” (our version of a newsletter!) If this sounds like you, share your interest with Fiona for consideration.
2025 Craft Club Opportunities:
Craft Club Volunteer Shifts:
All Craft Club volunteer shifts are open on a first-come, first-serve basis. Opportunities will be posted throughout the year and can be found under the “Opportunities” tab of your profile, when available. Craft Club volunteers will receive monthly emails letting them know of upcoming shifts, opportunities, and ways to get involved. Spots available for each activity are determined by site project needs and staff support. For example, some sessions may only need 5-10 volunteers to get the project done, other times we may need larger or smaller numbers.
Craft Club Special Projects:
For some craft club projects, Craft Club volunteers will get to see it through from inception, all the way to realization and installation, while other crafting projects may look different. Many of our Craft Club sessions also bring staff and volunteers together to problem solve, create, and have fun.
Craft Club Socials:
From time to time, we’ll host Craft Club socials. These opportunities are open to all crafters and are designed to foster moments of sharing and connection. Craft Club volunteers are welcome to bring their WIPs (works-in-progress) to craft in community. These opportunities are completely social and optional. Come to as many or few as you like.
Craft Club Skill-Shares:
Occasionally, we may engage the talents of volunteers and staff to lead crafting skills-shares/ workshops. Some of these skill-shares will be private to Craft Club volunteers only, while others may be made available to members of the public. If you’ve got a skill or craft to share with others, let us know and we will add it to our list of ideas. We will work with volunteers to build out the session to be fun, engaging, and craft-astic!
Good to know:
- Folks on the Craft Club mailing list are not guaranteed a spot during shifts. Shifts are available on a first come, first served basis until capacity is full.
- Craft Club volunteers can log hours toward Craft Club Volunteer shifts.
- Craft Club volunteers are not able to log hours toward social events or skill shares, unless you’re helping to lead one.
- There is no expectation or requirement for volunteers to lead a skill share or workshop to be part of the Craft Club. It is an option for those who wish to do so.
If this sounds like you, please sign-up below and add your name to the Craft Club mailing list to learn more about future volunteer shifts, social events, and more!
Please note: Craft Club activities will take a pause in January and February, but will be back in full swing in March 2025! Sign-up below to ensure you receive Craft Club updates.
