The Activity Assistant provides assistance with various group activities, as directed by onsite staff, including assisting residents to and from the activity room and assisting the morning walking group.

It is important for our residents to still feel part of the local community and to do things they enjoy including mixing with different people. As an Activity Assistant, you will be supporting our residents to share a specific activity with a small group of residents. This will involve chatting with residents and encouraging them to ‘have-a-go’

Requirements for this Role:

This role would suit someone with the following qualities

• Compassionate and empathetic
• Good communication and listening skills
• Commitment and reliability
• Friendly, understanding and patient nature
• Genuine interest in the activity you will be assisting with.

The following are required for all volunteers working in aged care in Australia

• National Police clearance, to be renewed every three years
• Signed statutory declaration and confidentiality agreement.
