Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) Volunteer - Peter James Centre
The Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) is a new initiative for Eastern Health that aims to prevent delirium and functional decline in older, hospitalised patients. This is a comprehensive patient-care program that ensures optimal care.
Delirium is a sudden state of confusion or change in mental state that can cause a loss of functioning. Volunteers will be an integral part of this program by providing warmth, companionship, encouragement and daily activities as prescribed by the medical team.
The program is flexible in commitment and gives you options of 3 different shifts to choose from, 7 days a week.
