Volunteer at Cat Haven

Join Cat Haven's most critical volunteer team in assisting with the day-to-day running of the shelter.

Tasks include:

• Cleaning and disinfecting cat condos;
• Washing bowls and litter trays;
• Dunking cat carriers in disinfectant, so they can be used again;
• Doing laundry for our Grounds, Clinic and Boarding teams;
• Sweeping and bagging up rubbish;
• Restocking food, litter and other cat supplies;
• Sorting donations from the public and storing them securely on site; and
• Constructing carriers and folding adoption booklets.

If you join in this program, you will unlock the option to train up to more advanced roles, such as:

• Kennel Support / Morning Clean volunteer: Responsible for daily care of friendly cats on site (feeding, basic health checking, and enrichment);
• Boarding volunteer: Helping to feed, clean, and play with cats who are staying in our boarding facility;
• Quarantine areas: Assist in the care of cats and kittens who have communicable diseases, such as ringworm; and
• Adoptions: Learn how to matchmake a customer with the cats available for adoption.
