Volunteer at Cat Haven

Join Cat Haven's most critical volunteer team in assisting with the day-to-day running of the shelter.

Tasks include:

• Cleaning and disinfecting cat condos;
• Washing bowls and litter trays;
• Dunking cat carriers in disinfectant, so they can be used again;
• Doing laundry for our Grounds, Clinic and Boarding teams;
• Sweeping and bagging up rubbish;
• Restocking food, litter and other cat supplies;
• Sorting donations from the public and storing them securely on site; and
• Constructing carriers and folding adoption booklets.

If you join in this program, you will unlock the option to train up to more advanced roles, such as:

• Kennel Support / Morning Clean volunteer: Responsible for daily care of friendly cats on site (feeding, basic health checking, and enrichment);
• Boarding volunteer: Helping to feed, clean, and play with cats who are staying in our boarding facility;
• Quarantine areas: Assist in the care of cats and kittens who have communicable diseases, such as ringworm; and
• Adoptions: Learn how to matchmake a customer with the cats available for adoption.

Cat Haven Op Shop - Scarborough

We are looking for fabulous Op Shop volunteers with attributes that include:

• Customer Service Purrfessional: Greet customers with a smile and help them find their perfect purchase.
• Team Players: Work with a fabulous team of volunteers.
• Fur-tastic Treasure Hunter: Sort, price, and display donated pre-loved items.
• Merchandiser: Create eye-catching displays.

Cat Haven Op Shop - Willetton

Following the opening of our Scarborough Op Shop in 2024, we are excited to announce the opening of a second Cat Haven Op Shop location in Willetton in June 2025 and we need passionate volunteers to help make it a success. 

If you love working with people, finding hidden treasures, and making a real difference for cats in need, we’d love to have you on board!
