Creative Wellbeing Volunteer

Enhance patient experience by offering meaningful, enjoyable, activities such as arts and crafts, creative engagement, conversations, games and social interaction for patients on our wards. 

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys interacting with people, supporting emotional wellbeing and improving health outcomes for patients.

Availability
Shifts will be for 4 hours per week, between Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Location(s)

Hertfordshire based wards. Choose between:

  • Hemel Hempstead Hospital
  • St Peters Hospital
  • Langley House

Role duties: 

  • Offering arts and crafts and other creative activities to patients
  • Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support to patients
  • Playing games, puzzles and activities with patients
  • Encouraging social interaction between patients
  • Supporting an inclusive and supportive atmosphere

Skills and experience: 

Essential:

  • Enjoys engaging with people and offering companionship
  • Confident communicating with a diverse range of individuals
  • Reliable, empathetic and patient
  • Interested in health, wellbeing and creative activities
  • Comfortable supporting elderly people or vulnerable community members
  • This role is open to applicants aged 18+

Desirable:

  • Experience in creative arts, group activities or befriending
  • Multilingual skills
  • Experience in a healthcare community setting
