Creative Wellbeing Volunteer
Enhance patient experience by offering meaningful, enjoyable, activities such as arts and crafts, creative engagement, conversations, games and social interaction for patients on our wards.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys interacting with people, supporting emotional wellbeing and improving health outcomes for patients.
Availability
Shifts will be for 4 hours per week, between Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Location(s)
Hertfordshire based wards. Choose between:
- Hemel Hempstead Hospital
- St Peters Hospital
- Langley House
Role duties:
- Offering arts and crafts and other creative activities to patients
- Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support to patients
- Playing games, puzzles and activities with patients
- Encouraging social interaction between patients
- Supporting an inclusive and supportive atmosphere
Skills and experience:
Essential:
- Enjoys engaging with people and offering companionship
- Confident communicating with a diverse range of individuals
- Reliable, empathetic and patient
- Interested in health, wellbeing and creative activities
- Comfortable supporting elderly people or vulnerable community members
- This role is open to applicants aged 18+
Desirable:
- Experience in creative arts, group activities or befriending
- Multilingual skills
- Experience in a healthcare community setting
