Group Support Volunteer - Stroke Café Finchley

Role Description

Help create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients attending the Stroke Café Groups in Finchley. You'll chat to service users and encourage them to engage in conversation as part of a group or on a 1 to 1 basis.

Location Finchley Quaker Meeting House, 58 Alexandra Grove, N12 8HG

Availability Every Thursday from 1pm – 3.30pm

Help the Stroke Rehabilitation service

  •  Create a friendly, welcoming, and helpful environment at the regular conversation groups.
  • Offer directional advice and practical assistance to patients and visitors.

  • Encourage patients to participate and get the most out of the classes by spending time talking with them.

  • Motivate patients during the class to participate.

  • Help patients engage with the social aspect of the classes to combat loneliness.

  • DBS Required

  • Minimum 6 months commitment
