Business Support - Podiatry Hertfordshire

We’re looking for a volunteer to help patients access their Podiatry appointments.

 

The volunteer will support the team by calling patients to remind them of their appointments, answering queries and helping to reduce the number of patients who do not attend their appointments.   

Availability

4 hours per week between Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm

Location(s)

Role duties: 

  • As part of the team, you’ll contact patients to remind of their coming up appointments.
  • You will contact patients who missed their appointments to understand why and feedback to the team.
  • You’ll update all patients details where necessary.
  • You’ll demonstrate good customer care relations on the phone with patients, valuing each individual.
  • You’ll undertake light admin duties where necessary like helping with outgoing mail, filing and other tasks.
  • You’ll ensure that all queries are dealt with in an efficient, helpful and courteous manner.

Skills and experience: 

  • In this role, we are looking for applicants over 18 years old
  • You’ll have excellent communication skills, be empathetic and non-judgemental.
  • You’ll be comfortable approaching patients and visitors in a confident and caring manner
  • You’ll have good listening skills
  • You’ll be sensitive and tactful, with emotional resilience
  • You’ll be reliable and good at time keeping
  • You’ll work on own initiative and ask for help when needed
  • You’ll understand the importance of confidentiality
  • You’ll have good IT and administrative skills.
