Could you help with the smooth running of our wards?

- Volunteer role, expenses paid
- Location: Hounslow, West London (Lakeside Mental Health Unit, Kingfisher Ward)

Our acute mental health inpatient care units are supportive and safe environments, where we focus on the needs of each individual to help them get well. Our aim is to promote their recovery and social inclusion. We provide a wide range of services for people who need support and care for mental health problems or a mental health crisis. As a Ward Helper you will play a vital role in the smooth running of busy wards and support patients to have positive experiences of hospital life. Ward Helpers provide assistance with routine ward activities while focussing on supporting patients to maintain and improve their health. Ward Helpers will support patients to engage in activities one to one or in small groups enabling them to maintain physical and mental activity while in hospital.

In return we will offer you:

  • A full induction, training or brief to your role
  • On-going support and guidance from a member of staff
  • The opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills
  • The opportunity to get involved in other areas of The Trust’s work, including NHS careers
  • Reimbursement of reasonable expenses.
